How to Stay Young & Cool Online At Any Age

How to stay young

Actual Age Versus A Youthful Spirit

Growing older may refer to your actual age, which doesn’t necessarily mean growing older in mind or spirit. Senior online dating is the one place where indications of getting older in character may cause your profile to be skipped over. What a senior man or woman features in their online profile can either reflect a youthful, vibrant spirit, or the absence of one or both. The choice is up to senior online daters, but this isn’t something that can be faked.

Two sixty-year olds may look entirely different in terms of physical aging appearance. This is primarily about genetics, but it’s also related to how well a senior has taken care of their physical body. Not much anyone can do about physical aging beyond exercising, eating right, and staying healthy.

Youth is a Feeling, Not an Age

But for senior men and women daters, many of whom are dating for the first time after long marriages, presenting a youthful personality, which exists on the inside, is essential. I’ve never met a senior who was thrilled about getting older, but feeling negative about aging can affect a senior’s mindset and consequently, their dating opportunities. Do you still remember how to let your inner boy or girl come out to play, or has your inner child disappeared? A senior dater who writes about his or her youthful character in terms of interests and attitudes, knows how to let their inner child shine through.

Set Your Profile Young

Happy senior

If you’re not in touch with your inner boy or girl, then you’ve lost a valuable aspect of your personality. There aren’t any reasons why a senior can’t remain young and cool in spirit, which doesn’t mean wearing clothing in your online profile photos that would better suit a teenager. But posting photos that allow potential dates to see a youthful sparkle in your eye and a well-worn smile on your face reflects your joy for living and enthusiasm for life’s adventures. It’s a good start. But that’s just the external.

Be Passionate

Men and women who look younger than their actual age frequently credit this to maintaining a young and energetic character. I agree, and I maintain mine with a positive young mindset. I pursue my passion for writing and arts, I exercise, maintain close friendships and invest a lot in my personal relationship. I take advantage of any opportunity I have to play like a boy i.e., hiking, ball games, dancing, romancing, and laughing a lot with friends. Most importantly, I refuse to become grumpy or glum just because I’m aging.

I mentioned all passions and activities in my online profile when I dated, and the response from women was overwhelming because they perceived me as a youthful and fun spirit. I actually wrote in my profile that my inner boy was alive and well, and loves to come out and play.

Nothing Is Out Of Bounds

Nothing is out of bonds

It’s simple really. Don’t allow your automatic default position about life to devolve into, “I can’t do this or that because I’m too old". Dare a little and begin thinking in terms of not being too old for 99% of life’s potential adventures. Remember how much fun it was to be a carefree boy or girl on a daylong bicycle adventure or an all day hike, and consider that while all day might be a bit long, these and similar activities are still doable.

Stay Romantic

Seniors on bike

Pack a picnic lunch and take a date you met online for a bicycle ride to a sweet spot you know about, or a hike to a special place you like. Being spontaneous and full of energy is as young as it gets. Make this date special and simple by preparing a quality lunch and spreading it out on a tablecloth in a meadow. A bottle of wine adds to the romantic quality. Being out in nature on a beautiful day wakes the youthful spirit up and lends itself to a romantic adventure.

Relive Art

Most cities have art museums, which can invoke feelings, positive or negative, about the works displayed. Engage in learning about art or discussing what you already know with a date, as you walk through the gallery, wakes up the creative spirit and allows it to wander freely. Agreeing or arguing with a date about art, engages passions and feelings about more than just the interesting piece, and the dialogue can reflect feelings about many aspects of life. Taking an art class is another option because it wakes up the creative spirit. Remember the joy of finger-painting when you were a child? That youthful spirit still lives in you. In fact famous artists frequently say that their goal is to paint with the freedom and sense of abandon they felt as boys or girls.

Spell It Out

Write your online profile in a manner that reflects a youthful attitude about your life and that states you know how to engage your inner boy or girl. No one is attracted to an online profile that suggests your best years have come and gone. “Still going strong, I wake up every morning excited about life, or simply, I’m still a boy/girl at heart" present a person with a youthful spirit.

The old bromide that you’re only as old as you feel is 100% correct, in terms of a youthful, cool spirit. The difference between being old chronologically and being old in spirit is a huge gap that seniors should never allow to develop. The good news is that it’s never too late to close that gap. When you do, your dating experience will likely improve.
