Lavalife : Dating Site Review
Too distracting.

I understand that online dating sites do need to make money, but that's what paid membership is for, right? I wonder why Lavalife has soooo many advertisements. It totally takes your mind and attention off from what you came to the site for in the first place - to find a date.
Easy but quite confusing.

For me, Lavalife.com is an easy and convenient online dating service to use. I appreciate the fact that you can create 3 profiles based on what you are looking for, but at the same time I think this is all too confusing. Some men (and women) post conflicting information on their different profiles - the casual dating, romance, and intimate encounters - and when you IM someone based on their intimate encounters profile, you get shunned off immediately. I think people should be given just 1 profile and stick to it.
Pictures make a HUGE difference.

I don't want to seem to shallow when I say this, but for an online dating site where you don't really see the person you're talking to, a picture spells the entire difference. And I don't understand why Lavalife would let members go on without pictures. Who would want to spend hours chatting and spending credits on someone who only has 3 teeth and is severely over or underweight??? Sure it's for privacy, but it's a total waste of time if you find that you don't like how the other person looks even after he/she has granted you access to view their other pictures.
